Mount Igueldo Amusement Park

Mount Igueldo Amusement Park is a recreation area featuring rides, carnival games, and viewpoints spread across the hillside overlooking San Sebastián Bay and the Cantabrian Sea. The layout mixes traditional carousels with other attractions, offering views from multiple spots across the grounds.

The park opened in 1912 and ranks among the oldest amusement parks in northern Spain. It has evolved over time while keeping some of its original rides intact.

The attraction incorporates elements of Basque heritage through its architecture, food options, and seasonal celebrations that connect visitors with regional traditions.

Access is via a mountain railway departing from the base station, operating daily until sunset. Coming early in the day helps you avoid long waits.

The park preserves several mechanical rides from the early 20th century, including a wooden roller coaster and a water slide. These historic machines still operate and offer visitors an authentic experience from an earlier era.
