The Edificio de Correos features ornate decorations, stone reliefs, and sculptural elements that characterize its Neo-Plateresque architectural style from the 1920s.
Architect Luis Díaz Tolosana designed this postal building, which opened on August 3, 1928, replacing the former Plaza de Bilbao space.
The building incorporates traditional lion-shaped mailboxes at its corner entrance, where generations of children have deposited their letters to the Three Kings.
The post office underwent a complete interior renovation between 2020 and 2022, maintaining its essential services while preserving its historical facade.
Behind the building lies Nuestra Señora del Cabello Street, one of the two smallest streets in Vitoria-Gasteiz, named after a former hospital.
