Royal Arms Factory of Orbaizeta

The stone structures of this industrial complex stretch across three levels near the French border, featuring furnaces, workshops, and water channels.

The Spanish Crown established this arms factory in 1784 to manufacture weapons and ammunition, operating continuously until its closure in 1884.

The factory complex included housing for 150 workers and their families, forming a complete industrial community with its own church.

Visitors can access the ruins free of charge, though guided tours are available through the Navarre Tourism office.

The factory produced 3,600 bombs annually using local iron deposits, water resources, and timber from the surrounding forest.
