Parc de la Barceloneta is a park in the La Barceloneta neighborhood with three distinct sections that connect grassy areas, paved pathways, and open spaces toward the Mediterranean Sea. The layout provides room for different recreational activities and sports.
Before 1989, the Catalana de Gas factory occupied this site as an industrial facility serving the region. A water tower from 1905 designed by José Doménech y Estapà still stands as a reminder of that industrial past.
The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors and visitors enjoy outdoor activities and social time together. Different areas encourage various pursuits, from quiet walks to games on the grass.
The park features children's play areas, petanque courts, and a football field for different visitors. Simply walk in, explore the different sections, and find the area that suits your activity.
An old metal gasometer structure from 1868 by engineer Claudi Gil Serra remains preserved on the grounds. This industrial relic shows how the land was shaped by its previous use and now stands as an open artwork within the park.
