The Museo Naval del Barco de la Virgen resembles a stranded galleon situated next to Las Nieves ravine in the northern urban area.
Local residents led by Armando Yanes Carrillo constructed this exact replica of Christopher Columbus's flagship Santa Maria in 1940 for religious celebrations.
The museum plays a central role during the Descent of Virgin of Las Nieves festival, featuring a traditional dialogue between the castle and ship since 1885.
The museum opens daily from 10:00 to 18:00 in winter and 10:00 to 20:00 in summer, with exhibits presented in Spanish, English, and German.
The museum contains maritime charts from the 18th century preserved on parchments, documenting the naval history of La Palma island.
