Iglesia de san Gil, Gothic-Mudejar church in Plaza Nueva, Spain.
The San Gil Church featured a main nave measuring 41 meters in length and 9.75 meters in width, with six niche chapels along its walls.
The church was constructed between 1543 and 1563 on the site of the former Hatabin Mosque, which had served as a parish since 1507.
The main facade, designed by Diego de Siloe in 1555 and executed by Juan de Maeda, displayed Renaissance architectural elements with Corinthian columns.
The church stood at the northwestern corner of Plaza Nueva intersecting with Elvira Street until its demolition in 1869.
During the demolition, painter Manuel Gomez-Moreno Gonzalez was arrested for taking measurements and photographs of the temple for the Monuments Commission.
