Palacio de Enrique IV, Segovia, Medieval palace and museum in Segovia, Spain
The Palacio de Enrique IV is a medieval palace in Segovia that now functions as an art museum. The building extends across multiple connected sections between two main streets and houses contemporary art exhibitions within its historical rooms.
The palace became the residence of King Henry IV of Castile in 1467, chosen for its comfort over the Alcazar. This royal occupation shaped the building as a center of power during the 15th century.
The palace displays 15th-century construction with Moorish influences visible in the room details and facade elements throughout the building. Visitors can observe these architectural features within the contemporary art galleries today.
The site is accessible to visitors with various mobility needs and offers access to multiple exhibition areas during opening hours. It is advisable to allow time to explore the different connected sections of the complex.
The palace's western tower retains its original windows from the time of its construction. The facade features a double-height gallery decorated with ceramic spheres, a distinctive element of its medieval design.
