Castillos de Valderas y Museo de Arte en Vidrio de Alcorcón

The MAVA museum occupies a restored early 20th-century castle complex, featuring three distinct buildings with a permanent collection of contemporary glass art pieces.

The San José de Valderas Castle, built in 1917 by architect Luis Sainz de los Terreros, served as a residence for the Marquis of Valderas and received visits from King Alfonso XIII.

The museum maintains a rotating schedule of temporary exhibitions that showcase both established and emerging artists specializing in glass art techniques and innovations.

The museum opens Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, offering free admission and guided tours for groups between 10 and 25 people.

The initial collection started with 57 pieces donated by Japanese collector Takako Sano after visiting the future museum location in 1996.
