Cala Murtra, Nude beach in the Cap de Creus Natural Park, Roses, Spain

Cala Murtra is a small stone cove on the Costa Brava nestled beneath rocky cliffs about 120 meters (394 feet) long. The water is clear and surrounded by natural rock formations that create a secluded setting.

Cala Murtra lies in the Montjoi bay, within the Cap de Creus Natural Park, between Cala Lledó and Cala Rostella, six kilometres from the centre of Roses. Since 2009 the cove has held the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001, granted for the management of this undeveloped beach of coarse sand and pebbles.

This clothing-optional beach reflects Spanish attitudes toward naturism, drawing visitors who value comfort and freedom in natural settings. The relaxed approach here shows how locals have embraced this lifestyle as a normal part of coastal culture.

Cala Murtra lies 6 km from Roses town centre in the Montjoi bay, within the Cap de Creus Natural Park, between Cala Lledó and Cala Rostella.
