Playa de la Mil Palmeras

Playa de la Mil Palmeras is a sandy beach stretching about 535 meters along the Mediterranean coast with moderate waves and a width of roughly 30 meters. Several sections are framed by tall reddish rock formations that rise above the waterline.

The beach originated in the 1980s from a private development project initially designed as a Scandinavian vacation destination. Over time, the area transformed into an international coastal destination serving a wider audience.

The beach sits at the boundary between two municipalities, with the Cañada de Matamoros gully marking administrative divisions of the Costa Blanca region. This location reflects how local jurisdictions shape the coastal landscape.

Two large parking areas provide free access to the beach with ramps leading directly to the sand and lifeguard services during peak season. Bring water and sun protection, as the beach offers limited natural shade.

The water extends very gradually into the sea, creating an expansive shallow zone where visitors can wade and swim in shallow water for a considerable distance. This natural feature makes it particularly suitable for families and older swimmers.
