Las Higuericas

Las Higuericas is a golden sand beach stretching nearly 1 kilometer along Pilar de la Horadada's Mediterranean coastline, measuring 35 meters at its widest point. The shore is bordered by a natural dune system that helps define the landscape.

The dune system once reached heights of around 5 meters during the 1990s but has since been shaped by environmental changes. A regeneration program now works to restore and protect these natural features.

The palm-lined promenade is regularly used by both residents and visitors year-round for walking, cycling, and meeting others. These everyday activities shape how people experience the Mediterranean shoreline in this area.

The beach has two large parking areas and accessible facilities for people with mobility challenges, including amphibious chairs for water access. Lifeguards patrol the shore during the swimming season from mid-June through mid-September.

The beach features designated play zones both in the sand and in the water that separate activities for different age groups. This arrangement lets families structure their time according to their children's needs and interests.
