Flamenca Beach, Spain, Mediterranean beach in Orihuela Coast, Spain
Flamenca Beach is a sandy stretch along the Mediterranean coast, southeast of Torrevieja in the municipality of Orihuela. A developed promenade runs behind the shoreline, with restaurants and visitor facilities set along it.
Until the 1970s, this coastal strip was largely made up of salt marshes with very little development. Over the following decades, residential areas and visitor infrastructure were built and gradually shaped the coast into what it is today.
On Saturdays, a small market runs along the waterfront where local vendors sell handmade crafts and fresh regional produce. Walking through the stalls gives a good sense of what people in this part of the Costa Blanca grow and make.
The beach has lifeguards, showers, and access ramps so that visitors with different needs can use it comfortably. Going early in the morning or later in the afternoon makes it easier to find space and avoid the midday heat.
Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented directly on the beach, so there is no need to carry your own equipment. This makes it easy to arrive with very little and still spend a full day by the water.
