Banco Popular headquarters, Madrid, Corporate headquarters building in Hortaleza district, Madrid, Spain
Banco Popular headquarters is a corporate complex in Hortaleza made up of four rectangular office blocks connected by aerial bridges. The buildings feature internal courtyards that bring natural light deep into the structure, with five above-ground floors for offices and four underground levels for parking.
The complex was built in two phases, beginning with a data processing center completed in 2013 and continuing with the main building finished in 2017. This staged development allowed the project to adapt and expand as the company's needs evolved.
The architectural firm Ayala designed the structure with emphasis on modular office spaces and efficient circulation through longitudinal connecting channels.
The site is accessible to visitors, with the western block offset creating a clear entrance plaza that is easy to locate. The complex is well connected to public transportation and provides ample parking for those arriving by car.
The facade features ceramic tube latticework applied to aluminum panels, creating a fine textile-like pattern across the exterior. This handcraft-inspired detail gives the modern office building an unexpected visual warmth rarely seen in corporate complexes.
