Quinta de Torre Arias Park, Historical garden in San Blas-Canillejas district, Madrid, Spain.
Quinta de Torre Arias Park is a 17-hectare estate with extensive gardens featuring 51 tree species, including a 300-year-old holm oak and various almond, pine, and cedar trees. The grounds blend cultivated garden areas with open lawns and woodland patches that invite leisurely walks.
The property belonged to Madrid's aristocratic families from 1600 onward and received official recognition as a Historical Site in 2022. This long connection with the nobility shaped how the estate developed and changed over four centuries.
The estate reflects how Madrid's aristocratic families designed their properties to blend leisure with farming operations that sustained the household. Walking through the grounds today, you can still see how different areas were organized for both relaxation and practical agricultural work.
The park opens from 9 AM to 6 PM during winter and 8 AM to 9:30 PM in summer, with easy access via Torre Arias Metro station on Line 5. Flat, well-maintained paths run through the grounds and make it easy to explore for visitors of all abilities.
The grounds contain two natural springs called Isabela and Minaya that feed water through ancient irrigation systems. These waterworks trace back to medieval methods used in Madrid and reveal how the estate managed water across the centuries.
