Iglesia del Carmen de Córdoba

Iglesia del Carmen de Córdoba, Renaissance and Baroque temple in Córdoba, Spain.

Iglesia del Carmen de Córdoba is a temple combining Renaissance and Baroque features, distinguished by a single nave with a vaulted ceiling. The space is supported by rib arches and displays decorative lunettes along a series of connected side chapels.

The church was founded in 1590 by Discalced Carmelites as part of their monastic community. It became a parish church in 1890 after the original convent complex was no longer in use.

The interior holds important artworks including sculptures and paintings created by local masters from the 1600s that visitors can see today. These pieces reflect the religious art tradition that shaped the city's spiritual spaces.

Visitors can enter free of charge, though timing should align with regular worship services held daily. It is wise to check local opening times before planning a visit.

Outside the church stands a stone cross from 1902 surrounded by a gate featuring artistic ironwork. This craftsmanship resembles the decorative details found at the nearby Cristo de los Faroles.
