Cala Formentor

Cala Formentor is a white sand beach stretching roughly 840 meters along the Formentor peninsula with clear turquoise water and Mediterranean pine forest as its backdrop. The sand is fine-grained and extends across a width that accommodates many visitors comfortably.

International fame came to this beach through the nearby Hotel Formentor, which attracted prominent figures like Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill starting in the 1930s. The hotel's success shaped the area into a sought-after destination.

Fishing boats from the local community still work these waters, adding to the everyday life of the beach. The Mediterranean pine forest creates a natural boundary that shapes how people experience the shoreline.

The beach has showers, restrooms, and lifeguards on duty, with two restaurants available nearby. A paid parking lot serves visitors, and the beach restricts activities to swimming and sunbathing only.

The beach holds Blue Flag certification and stands out as one of the few places where traditional fishing boats continue their daily work. Despite high environmental standards, local fishing practices remain visible and part of everyday life.
