Cala Capitán

Cala Capitán is a golden sand beach on the Orihuela Costa that slopes gently into the Mediterranean, with a distinctive shape formed by its rocky surroundings. The shoreline is relatively compact and sits close to a well-developed coastal zone.

The beach received its first Blue Flag certification in 2003 for water quality and service standards. This recognition has been renewed regularly over the following years.

The beach sits along a coastal path where you see people walking and gathering throughout the year, making it a social hub for the area. These everyday visits shape how locals and visitors experience the waterfront.

The beach offers lifeguards, restrooms, and sun lounger rentals to make your day comfortable. Parking is available on Calle Cala Capitán, making it easy to reach from nearby roads.

Two natural islets, Isla del Carmen and Isla del Escullano, sit nearby and create a sheltered lagoon with volcanic rock formations on the seabed. These features give the water around the beach a distinctive character.
