El Bon Nou

El Bon Nou is a golden sand beach stretching about 220 meters along the Mediterranean coast near La Vila Joiosa. Large rock formations frame both edges of the shore, creating natural boundaries and shaping the beach's layout.

The area around this beach was settled in ancient Roman times and served as a strategic port on the Mediterranean. The town grew over centuries as a maritime trading center and developed its character through seafaring traditions.

Fishing remains an active practice here, and the local food tradition depends on daily catches from these waters. You will notice fishing boats and equipment along the shore as part of everyday life.

The beach has restrooms, rinse stations, trash receptacles, and parking accessible via marked paths. Facilities are easy to find and visitor access is well organized throughout the area.

Two large rocks at the beach ends naturally reduce wave action, keeping the water clear throughout the year. This geological feature creates a calmer swimming experience than many nearby beaches.
