Areamilla

Areamilla is a white sand beach on the Galician coast near Cangas that stretches about 150 meters in length. The clear water and natural rock formations at both ends give it a distinct structure that divides the space into several distinct areas.

The beach received its first Blue Flag certification as recognition for environmental standards and marked a milestone for coastal development in the region. This award led to improvements in facilities and infrastructure for visitors.

The name Areamilla means small sandy area in the local dialect and reflects how residents describe their coastal spaces simply and directly. Fishermen and local families have shaped the beach's role in daily community life for generations.

The beach has modern facilities including showers and restrooms as well as designated swimming areas and is watched by lifeguards during summer months. Visitors find everything they need for a beach day with good infrastructure throughout the area.

The natural rock formations at both ends create natural tide pools that fill with seawater during high tide, forming their own protected swimming areas. These tide pools offer visitors a surprising experience that changes depending on the time of day.
