The municipality of Cangas extends over 38 square kilometers along the Morrazo Peninsula, featuring six distinct administrative parishes and numerous beaches.
In 1160, Cangas received its official foundation charter, marking the beginning of organized settlements in this sector of the Galician coastline.
The parishes of Cangas maintain individual religious celebrations throughout the year, with the Fiestas del Cristo del Consuelo occurring the last Sunday of August.
The municipality provides regular maritime connections to Vigo through passenger ferries, offering an alternative transportation route for residents and visitors.
