Placeres Beach extends for 50 meters along the left bank of Ria de Pontevedra, displaying white sand and offering views of Tambo Island.
The Gran Hotel de Baños de Mar de Los Placeres opened in 1902 at O Cabo point, serving as a luxurious accommodation until becoming the College of Sacred Heart in 1918.
During the late 19th century, the beach connected to Pontevedra by tramway became a central location for summer social gatherings and activities.
The beach provides showers, a drinks stand, and direct access from the PO-11 four-lane motorway, located 4 kilometers from Pontevedra city center.
On June 28, 2023, the beach transitioned from port status to maritime-terrestrial public domain, marking a new phase in its accessibility to visitors.
