Torrecid

Torrecid is an archaeological site with the remains of a medieval castle near Ateca, located at about 663 meters in elevation. The visible ruins include foundations of seven rooms and low stone walls, some covered in mud and earth.

The fortified site served as a military base around 1081 during campaigns in the region and housed significant troop numbers. It played a role in the medieval conflicts that shaped the political landscape of the era.
