Pont de les Set Llunes, Railway bridge in Alcoy, Spain.
Pont de les Set Llunes is a concrete bridge spanning 230 meters and reaching 46 meters in height across the San Antonio ravine. The structure features multiple arches of varying sizes that carry you above the valley floor and is now open for walkers to cross.
Engineer José Roselló Martí designed this concrete structure between 1927 and 1929 for a planned railway connection linking Alcoy to Alicante. The rail line never became operational, leaving the bridge without its original purpose.
The name derives from a local poetic reference tied to the Alcoy region and its natural surroundings. Walking across it today, you sense how the place remains connected to the area's identity and landscape heritage.
Start your visit from either end of the bridge and walk across at a relaxed pace to take in the views. Wear sturdy shoes and watch your footing, as the surface can be uneven in places along the crossing.
Despite its name suggesting seven arches, the bridge actually contains eight arches of varying dimensions. This unexpected number surprises many visitors who take the name literally when they count while crossing.
