Muralla urbana, Medieval defensive wall in Cabra, Spain
The urban wall of Cabra extends through the old town with sections of large stone blocks forming a substantial defensive perimeter along the settlement.
Archaeological excavations revealed that the initial construction dates back to the 7th century BCE during the Tartessian period, with later Roman and medieval modifications.
The wall structure includes elements from various civilizations, incorporating Iberian, Roman, and medieval Castilian architectural techniques and building materials.
Recent restoration work in 2023 reinforced the wall structure with 600 tons of cement and created new viewing areas for visitors.
The wall contains preserved Iberian fortification elements within its urban center, featuring cyclopean stones measuring 2.64 meters in height.
