The museum spans 680 square meters across six exhibition halls, displaying paintings, sculptures, and photographs from the eighteenth century to present times.
The museum opened on September 24, 2012, following an agreement between artist Andrés García Ibáñez and the Autonomous City of Melilla for collection donation.
The collection includes 500 modern art pieces, 300 contemporary works, and sculptures by artists like Juan López, Emilio Manescau, and Mustafa Arruf.
The museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, with extended hours until 21:00 during summer months.
The museum building contains archaeological elements such as sixteenth-century stonemason marks and ancient dungeons within its neoclassical architecture.
