Construction of the bridge started in 2017 as part of the Zorrotzaurre urban development project, with LKS Ingeniería leading the engineering design.
The bridge stands near the ZAWP Bilbao creative district and the transformed Edificio Papelera, which now serves cultural purposes.
The structure incorporates dedicated lanes for vehicles, public transportation, bicycles, and pedestrian walkways, facilitating multiple transportation modes.
The bridge structure was installed in a single piece over the Deusto Canal, featuring two symmetrical arches that rise 34 meters in the central section.
