Parroquia de San Ginés de Padriñán

The San Ginés de Padriñán sanctuary features a rectangular nave supported by pointed stone arches and exhibits a maritime architectural style with a distinctive portico and rosette.

The church dates back to the 15th century, initially located in Aldariz before being relocated to its current position near Sanxenxo port around 1670.

The interior houses five altarpieces, including an 18th-century Baroque main altar dedicated to Saint Genesius of Arles and notable Virgin Mary devotional spaces.

The sanctuary maintains regular religious services and opens its doors for cultural exhibitions, with extended visiting hours during the summer months from July through August.

During renovations in 2016, workers uncovered 500-year-old frescoes and burial sites within the Purification Chapel, revealing Renaissance-era paintings and founding families' coats of arms.
