Mercado Central de Abastos

The Mercado Central de Abastos in Jerez de la Frontera is a wholesale market with neoclassical architecture organized into three main sections for meat, fish, and fresh produce. Approximately 115 vendor stalls operate daily, offering goods sourced from local and regional suppliers.

Construction took place between 1873 and 1885 under architect Jose Esteve Lopez on the former grounds of the San Francisco convent. This location resulted from the Mendizabal expropriations, which transferred church properties to state control.
