Art Centre Salmela

Located in a mid-19th century parish building, Art Centre Salmela extends across multiple restored structures including an old apothecary and postal office.

Founded in 1993, the center has grown into one of Finland's largest art institutions, hosting over 150 young artists through its residency program.

The center organizes an annual summer exhibition featuring works from established Finnish artists alongside emerging talents, complemented by concerts and competitions.

Open daily from 11 AM to 6 PM during the summer exhibition period, the center includes a waterside sculpture park and the restaurant Kesäheinä.

The center provides free accommodation and studio space to four artists at a time during off-season months, fostering artistic creation in winter solitude.
