Baddingin kioski Paratiisi, Music-themed kiosk in Somero, Finland
Baddingin kioski Paratiisi is a white wooden kiosk situated at the Ahola junction along Helsinkintie, offering both a parking area and outdoor seating for visitors. The building now functions as a memorial venue with sales offerings connected to local musical history.
The building was constructed in 1962 as a Somerjoen family project and remained active until 1975, before reopening under new ownership in 1997 as a memorial site. The renaming reflected changed ownership and a reoriented purpose.
The kiosk honors its connection to a renowned Finnish musician who worked there as a young man before achieving fame. Visitors can purchase memorabilia such as shirts, pins, and books that reflect this local musical heritage.
The kiosk is located in Somero at Helsingintie 920 and is open Friday through Sunday, with Saturday opening earlier than other days. Visitors should note that opening hours are seasonal and primarily occur during summer months.
The name Paratiisi, meaning Paradise, was selected through a public vote when the kiosk relaunched in 1997. This democratic naming process turned the project into a community experience for local residents.
