The Hännilänsalmi bridge spans 125 meters across Lake Keitele with a width of 10 meters, connecting different sections of the municipality.
Constructed in 1962, this bridge carried Main Road 4, European Route E75, and Main Road 77 until its replacement with a new structure in 2010.
The bridge represents a period of Finnish infrastructure development in the 1960s when numerous transportation projects modernized the northern European region.
The structure incorporated separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians, ensuring safe passage for all users crossing the waterway.
For nearly half a century, this bridge served as the main connection point across Lake Keitele before its dismantling in 2010.
