The Finnish Museum of Games

The Finnish Museum of Games at Vapriikki Museum Centre displays around one hundred Finnish games spanning board games, digital titles, and role-playing games across different periods. The collection includes traditional entertainment forms and covers both historical and contemporary gaming types.

The museum was founded in 2017 through a crowdfunding campaign supported by over one thousand backers from the gaming community. Major Finnish game development companies including Supercell and Housemarque contributed significantly to this initiative.

The museum displays gaming rooms from different decades starting in the 1980s with original equipment and reconstructed gaming shops, showing how people spent their leisure time across generations.

Visitors can play more than 80 digital games, use arcade machines, and participate in gaming marathons and e-sports events. Plan to spend enough time to explore the interactive areas and try different gaming setups.

The museum holds a special video archive with thirty-minute interviews conducted with forty game developers documenting the Finnish gaming industry's development. These interviews reveal the personal stories and insights from creators behind some of Finland's most recognized games.
