Plage des Salines

Plage des Salines is a white sand beach in Sainte-Anne with shallow turquoise waters stretching for about one kilometer. The shoreline is backed by coconut palms and divides into several sections with varying features and facilities.

The beach was once centered around salt production before shifting to recreational use over time. Major restoration efforts reshaped the area following a major storm that damaged the coastline.

The beach's name comes from the salt marshes that once thrived in this area, reflecting its role in local history. Today it remains a gathering place where both islanders and visitors come to enjoy the sea.

The beach offers multiple swimming areas and sections for relaxation, all easily accessible from the road. You should explore the different zones since some areas offer more shade and facilities than others.

At the southern end lies a protected wetland area with wooden walkways where visitors can observe birds and local wildlife up close. This quieter section offers a completely different experience from the main beach and attracts nature watchers.
