Founded around 900 CE as Saint James Church, the structure underwent major renovations between 1677 and 1685, receiving its current baroque architectural style.
The church received official recognition as a French Historical Monument in 1942, preserving its architectural heritage for future generations.
Located at 1 rue de la Poissonnerie, the church opens daily from 7 AM to 12 PM and 2:30 PM to 6 PM, with modified hours on Sundays.
The church houses a marble statue of the Virgin and Child in the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel chapel, enhanced with polychrome decorations from the Rococo period.
