Chapelle du Saint-Suaire, Neoclassical chapel in Old Town, Nice, France
The Chapelle du Saint-Suaire features a rectangular nave, a semi-circular fronton with the Trinity triangle, and a bell tower covered in glazed tiles.
In 1824, King Charles-Felix granted the chapel to a brotherhood formed by merging three ancient confraternities that existed since the early 17th century.
The Red Penitents Brotherhood maintains this religious site, which contains a reproduction of the Turin Shroud and numerous religious artworks.
Visitors should contact the Nice tourist office for opening hours and access information, as the chapel maintains limited public access schedules.
The chapel houses a polychrome wooden sculpture depicting Saint Hospice's miracle, showing the hermit's encounter with a Lombard soldier.
