Église Notre-Dame la Grande, Poitiers

Église Notre-Dame la Grande is a Romanesque church in the heart of Poitiers featuring a western facade decorated with stone sculptures and carved details spread across multiple levels. The interior holds medieval frescoes and lateral chapels added in the 15th century that display artistic elements from that later period.

The church rose on the site of an earlier pagan temple and took its present form in the 11th century. Its consecration in 1086 marked the establishment of a major religious center in the region.
