Cromlech de Lacam de Peyrarines, Neolithic stone circle in Blandas, France
The circular megalithic monument extends 103.6 meters in diameter with forty limestone menhirs arranged at 6-meter intervals around its circumference point.
The site dates from the Neolithic period and underwent professional restoration work in 1972 under archaeologist Adrienne Durand-Tullou to maintain its structural integrity.
The stone circle represents ancient human construction methods and astronomical knowledge, contributing to understanding prehistoric communities in southern France.
Visitors can reach the cromlech by following a path from the hamlet of La Rigalderie, located 2.5 kilometers northwest of Blandas village.
A central menhir rises to 2.15 meters, while surrounding stones measure between 0.40 and 1.75 meters, creating a graduated height arrangement.
