Château de Villesavin, Renaissance castle in Tour-en-Sologne, France

The castle features a horseshoe-shaped main building with decorated dormers, two symmetrical wings, and a central courtyard with an Italian marble fountain.

Jean le Breton, Secretary of Finance under King François I, supervised the construction of this castle between 1527 and 1537 near Château de Chambord.

The castle houses a museum dedicated to wedding traditions, displaying a collection of artifacts and ceremonial items dating from 1840 onwards.

The estate welcomes visitors from March to November, with guided tours available in multiple languages and wheelchair access to several rooms.

A 16th-century dovecote containing 1,500 nesting holes stands on the grounds, representing one of the few such structures that survived the French Revolution.

A castle much less known than its counterparts in the Loire Valley and yet only a few nautical miles from Chambord! Enjoyable guided tour. Unique collection related to marriage!
