Château de Maupas, Historic castle in Morogues, France.
The castle stands on a wooded hill, reflecting its stone structure in the adjacent pond while surrounded by French gardens at the base.
The estate became a marquisate in 1725 when Louis XV elevated the lands of Morogues, Maupas, and Parassy in favor of Pierre-Antoine Agard.
The interior contains an extensive collection of faience plates assembled by Théophile Agard de Maupas during the 1866 renovations of the castle.
Visitors can explore the castle grounds through a tree-lined pathway leading to the main courtyard and medieval tower area.
The Agard family has maintained continuous ownership of the property since 1688, when Antoine Agard purchased it for 36,000 gold francs.
