The Château de Simiane-la-Rotonde features a distinctive dodecagonal rotunda tower rising 18 meters with twelve arched niches separated by stone columns.
The castle first appeared in records from 1031 as a castrum, later becoming the residence of the Agoult-Simiane family until the French Revolution.
The castle's upper room hosts an annual early music festival in August, continuing the medieval tradition when troubadours performed within these walls.
The castle contains five rooms open to visitors, including two spaces dedicated to aromatic and medicinal plants during the summer season.
The rotunda's interior displays a stone cupola with twelve ribbed vaults, representing one of the finest examples of Provençal Romanesque architecture.
