The Bois Français recreation area spans 75 hectares along the Isère River, featuring four distinct lakes for swimming, fishing, water skiing, and boating activities.

In 1968, engineers modified the Isère River's course by reducing a 3,200-meter meander to a 900-meter straight channel, leading to the creation of multiple lakes.

The recreation center maintains a protected natural area with an educational orchard containing regional fruit trees and observation points for local wildlife studies.

The swimming area opens from mid-May to September, with entrance fees of 3.50 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for children between 7 and 18 years old.

Lake Chartreuse hosts a water skiing club since 1987, offering professional slalom courses and instruction through certified trainers throughout the season.
