Aquarium de Guadeloupe

The Aquarium de Guadeloupe is a public facility with multiple tanks displaying marine species from Caribbean waters. The tanks hold seawater and showcase the diversity of ocean life found near the islands.

The facility opened in 1985 and quickly became one of the most visited museums in Guadeloupe. The site was expanded and improved in its early years to accommodate growing visitor numbers.

The facility serves as a care center for sea turtles, where visitors can observe how injured and sick animals are treated and monitored. This work shows how local marine life receives direct protection and support from the community.

The location is situated at the marina and can be reached easily on foot. Visitors should allow plenty of time to explore the exhibits and take advantage of audio guides available in multiple languages.

The facility offers guided excursions to mangrove forests and coral reefs where visitors can explore the underwater world with diving instructors. These trips connect the aquarium visit with real experiences in the natural environment.
