Arbizon

The Arbizon peak reaches an elevation of 2,831 meters and stands as the 32nd highest mountain in the Aire d'adhésion du Parc national des Pyrénées Occidentales.

Generations of mountaineers have traversed the paths of Arbizon since ancient times, marking their presence through stone cairns that guide climbers to the summit.

Local residents of Saint-Hilaire maintain a strong connection to Arbizon, considering the ascent to its peak a fundamental experience of regional identity.

The mountain features two primary access routes: one from Hourquette d'Ancizan and another from Granges de Lurgues, with an elevation gain of 1,430 meters.

From the summit, marked by a 2.5-meter-high cairn and relay antenna, visitors can observe distant cities like Tarbes and peaks including Pic du Midi de Bigorre.
