Col de Portet

Col de Portet is a mountain pass in the Hautes-Pyrénées that can be approached from Saint-Lary-Soulan. The route climbs steeply with numerous hairpin bends connecting the valley floor to the high summit.

The pass was used for the first time in the Tour de France in 2018 as a stage finish and has since become a notable cycling challenge. This inclusion in the world's most prestigious cycling race significantly shaped the pass's international profile.

The upper section shares its initial slopes with the Pla d'Adet route before branching into a steeper and more demanding section. This connection creates two different climbing experiences on the same mountain.
