Basilique Saint-Just de Valcabrère

The stone basilica stretches 29 meters in length and 14.4 meters in width, featuring a central apse with two smaller radiating chapels.

The basilica's construction began in the 11th century using materials from the ancient Roman city of Lugdunum Convenarum and received consecration in 1200.

The entrance portal displays a tympanum depicting Christ surrounded by the four evangelists, accompanied by golden statues on each side.

Located 17 kilometers southwest of Saint-Gaudens, the basilica opens daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and connects to multiple pilgrimage routes.

The structure incorporates numerous Gallo-Roman sculptural elements throughout its walls, including repurposed columns and capitals from earlier periods.
