Château de Panloy, Historical castle in Port-d'Envaux, France
The Château de Panloy stands on the banks of the Charente River between Saintes and Rochefort, featuring stables, a dovecote, and a chapel within its grounds.
Built in the 18th century, this castle maintains its original furnishings and has been continuously inhabited by the same family throughout its existence.
Inside the castle, visitors discover preserved spaces with 18th-century tapestries, period furniture, and numerous objects reflecting the French aristocratic lifestyle.
The castle opens Wednesday through Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM between April and June, while July and August offer daily access from 10 AM to 7 PM.
The castle houses an exceptional Louis XV bathtub and an 1840 coffee maker, along with an original sedan chair displaying transportation methods of past centuries.
