Port miniature, Theme park on Grenouillette Island, Le Mung, France
Port Miniature is a recreation park on Grenouillette Island where visitors navigate scale model boats through dedicated waterways and miniature port settings. The grounds feature modeled boat channels with various harbor scenarios and play and ride attractions for children.
The park was founded in 1987 when a boat builder constructed a fleet of 17 miniature vessels representing different types of ships. This collection allowed maritime tradition and shipbuilding craftsmanship to become part of the daily visitor experience.
The site showcases maritime craftsmanship through detailed replicas of commercial vessels, fishing boats, and traditional watercraft that children can pilot themselves. These models let visitors experience how different types of ships were used and built.
The park is easily reached from the western part of the island and functions best during summer months with good weather. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the channels and play areas without rushing.
The grounds preserve attractions from the early 1900s, including carousels, swings, and pedal cars, which remain alongside modern inflatable play areas. This mix of older and newer play experiences makes each visit surprisingly diverse.
