The Château de Pont-Chevron features neoclassical architecture with symmetrical facades and overlooks a large 27-hectare lake on the grounds.
Built between 1896 and 1900 under Count Louis d'Harcourt's direction, this castle replaced an earlier fortress located on an island.
Roman mosaics from the 2nd century were uncovered in 1962 near the castle marshes, indicating the presence of ancient Roman baths.
The estate hosts private events including weddings and corporate seminars, offering 13 bedrooms for overnight accommodation of guests.
Queen Amélie of Portugal found sanctuary at this castle during her exile following the fall of the Portuguese monarchy in 1910.
