Château des Chauveaux

Château des Chauveaux is a manor house in the Dordogne region with a central building flanked by two octagonal towers and surrounded by mature trees on its grounds. The structures occupy a large estate that invites exploration and relaxation.

The building was constructed in the late 16th century as a regional manor house. In the late 19th century it underwent significant renovation work that introduced the distinctive towers and mansard roof that define its appearance today.

The former residence operates as a guesthouse where visitors can stay within the grounds of a French country manor. One experiences the rhythms of daily life in the Dordogne while moving through rooms shaped by centuries of occupation.

During renovation work, workers discovered the remains of a larger fireplace in the dining room that came from an earlier building phase of the castle. This find reveals that current rooms are built upon older structures underneath.
