Prefecture hotel of Val d'Oise

The Prefecture Hotel of Val d'Oise features an inverted pyramid design rising 20 meters high across six floors, with a square base measuring 60 meters on each side.

The construction of this administrative building began in the late 1960s following the reorganization of the Paris region and the creation of the Val d'Oise department.

Architect Henry Bernard incorporated modern architectural elements, while artist François Stahly contributed sculptures that enhance the building's exterior design.

The building houses administrative services for the Val d'Oise department, managing civil records, driving licenses, residence permits, and various official documents.

The surrounding François Mitterrand Park, designed by Allain Provost in 1973, underwent significant renovations between August 2012 and September 2013.
